What Is A Florida Auto Insurance Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)?

Vehicle Identification Number, also known as VIN is a unique serial number (consisting of numerals and alphabets) used by the automobile industry. The VIN is used to identify the individual automobiles. The VIN is just like any other security number. The VIN is a series of numbers and letters etched on a metal plate and located at the far end of the dashboard of the car.

Typically, for general pubic the VIN may seem to be a random series of number but it has a hidden meaning to it, the VIN contains information about the particular vehicle with regards to, the country of manufacture, the name of manufacturing company and other attributes including body style, model number and engine type.

The VIN contains 17 different characters however, the characters I, O and Q are never included in Vehicle identification number.
